The story is about Rupesh Kumar, known to everyone as Rishi Rao.

He was born in a small town named Banka in Bihar, where he completed his primary education. For secondary education, He moved to Haryana for a better opportunity. Since the 8th standard, He was deeply fascinated by modelling and wanted to be a model.

For some reason, He had to travel back to Banka to complete his higher education.

Apart from modelling, dancing has always been something close to his heart, and he even started a dancing institute for his home town.

Since 2015, He started auditioning for various modelling projects but couldn’t grab any. But He did a few cloth branding on Flipkart, Amazon and Shopclues online store. He also did a TVC ad shoot for denim jackets of a renowned brand.

In 2018, He found his first modelling opportunity on the way through a beauty pageant happening in Delhi. So He went for it and was among 300 contestants. He took seven days of grooming sessions before appearing in the spectacle that seemed like the right step because He won Mr Bihar 2018.

He was Guest of Honour at Mr and Miss Capital of UP for 2019 alongside Dino Morea and Arshi Khan. He also did a runway show for the famous designer Vipin Agrawal.

He has also done runway shows for Calcutta International Fashion Week 2019.

In 2019, He went for another beauty pageant, Mr and Miss India, The Exotic World, which was judged by Ammetta Malhotra(Miss Universe Classic), Supermodel from Malaysia and Saurav Singh Rawat(Mr United World 2019).

Rishi was among the Top 5 for Mr India contenders.

Again Mr and Miss Vogue India, 2019 He was welcomed as a guest of honour which also had Bollywood Star Ali Afzal, Karan Mehra and Sana Khan as a judge.

He was also part of few jury panels for Mr Teen India, which also had Mr World Rohit Khandelwal and Mr Super National Varun Verma as judges.

Few Titles He has gained so far –

Mr Active

Mr Professional Walker

Mr Beardo

In an interview, he shared insights into his personal life where he stated how it is difficult to dream something big hailing from a middle-class family and to achieve all these seems like all new dreams because modelling is something high maintenance. It’s not at all affordable in anyways.

Also, when things turn darker when there’s no hope, Rishi had his light source, and that was his mother who always inspires him to be dedicated more toward his goal.

He also had a supporting hand from his love interest, who always motivated him to be optimistic and not lose hope.

“Only a talented can notice a unique talent.”

And this is the case with Rishi because he started the competition called “Bihar’s Got Talent” in 2018 about finding hidden talented youths of Bihar and giving them a stage to showcase what they’ve got and been in the limelight rather than in hidden shadows.

The journey till now has been inspirational, but the future will be more fantastic.
