Sushmita Sen, the former Miss Universe and Bollywood actress, recently made headlines after suffering a heart attack in March. However, her brother Rajeev Sen has now confirmed that the actress is doing much better and is back to work on the third season of her popular web series Aarya.
In an interview with ETimes, Rajeev Sen said that his sister is mentally and physically very strong, and it’s not easy to manage two kids and work as an actor at the same time. He also praised Sushmita for her dedication to her work, as she had been shooting for months non-stop before her health scare.
Sushmita had revealed in an Instagram post that she had undergone an angioplasty after suffering a heart attack, which had caused 95 percent blockage in one of her arteries. Her co-star in Aarya 3, Vikas Kumar, later confirmed that she had the heart attack after landing in Jaipur for the show’s shoot.
Despite her health scare, Sushmita has been keeping busy with work and even walked the ramp at the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai just days after her heart attack. She urged fans to monitor their health during a recent Instagram Live and reminded everyone that health is unpredictable and things can happen.
Sushmita’s journey as an actress has been an inspiring one, as she made her debut in Bollywood with the film Dastak in 1996 and went on to win the Miss Universe title the same year. She has starred in several successful films, including Biwi No.1, Main Hoon Na, and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, and has also ventured into web series with Aarya, which premiered on Disney+ Hotstar in 2020.
The success of Aarya led to a second season, which was released in December 2021, and now Sushmita is working on the third season of the show. The web series, which is based on the Dutch drama series Penoza, follows the story of a woman named Aarya Sareen who takes on the criminal underworld after her husband is killed.
