Star-studded Ponniyin Selvan 2 press meet: Aishwarya Rai, Trisha Krishnan and others deck up in ethnics

The wait is over as the highly anticipated film, Ponniyin Selvan 2, is all set to release on April 28. The film, directed by the legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam, is a multi-starrer and has an ensemble cast featuring Aishwarya Rai, Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, among others. The film’s first part was released last year and received critical acclaim from the audience and critics alike. The team is busy promoting the film in different cities, and a star-studded press meet was held in Mumbai recently, leaving the fans excited.

The cast of Ponniyin Selvan 2 was seen in their best ethnic attire, and they looked stunning as ever. Aishwarya Rai, who is known for her impeccable fashion sense, stole the show with her white and golden salwar suit. The long salwar featured golden embroidery work throughout, and she paired it with a matching dupatta with golden zari work at the borders. Aishwarya accessorized the outfit with a contrasting green necklace, and she looked every bit of a diva.

Trisha Krishnan, who is also part of the film, was seen twinning with Aishwarya in a white and golden saree. The sheer white georgette saree featured thread work in golden resham threads and a golden zari border. She paired it with a matching white sleeveless blouse with a halter neckline and looked breathtakingly beautiful.

Sobhita Dhulipala, who plays the role of Vaanathi in the film, picked an ochre salwar decorated in blue and golden resham threads. She teamed it with a pair of contrasting bright blue sharara set featuring intricate embroidery work in shades of golden, and a blue georgette dupatta with golden zari work. In statement golden earrings and golden bangle, she further accessorized her look for the day.

Aishwarya Lekshmi was seen in a stunning red georgette saree with minimal floral patterns in shades of pink throughout the length of the saree. In golden earrings and a bracelet, she looked radiant and smiled with all her heart for the cameras.

The event was a star-studded affair, and the cast members spoke about their experiences working on the film. Aishwarya Rai, who plays Nandini, spoke about how it was a dream come true to work with Mani Ratnam. She said, “I have always been a huge fan of Mani Sir’s work, and to be a part of his film is a dream come true for me. Trisha Krishnan, who plays Kundhavai, spoke about her character and how it was a challenging role for her. She said, “Kundhavai is a very complex character, and it was a challenge for me to portray her on screen.
