“Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Magic at Geneva Screening”

The South Indian film industry has been making waves across the globe with their recent achievements. RRR, the blockbuster movie starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, has been receiving widespread acclaim for its track Naatu Naatu, which recently won the coveted Oscars. Joining the ranks of RRR, the Tamil language documentary The Elephant Whisperers also brought home the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Film at the Oscars 2023. As Indians celebrate these monumental victories at the Oscars, the South Indian film industry has more reasons to be proud, as Rishab Shetty’s Kantara is set to be screened at the United Nations in Geneva on March 17, which also marks the birth anniversary of Puneeth Rajkumar.

Rishab Shetty has already arrived in Geneva and completed the oral submission for the screening of his film Kantara. The Centre for Global Affairs & Public Policy confirmed the news with a tweet that states, “Kantara greatly inspires people to be aware of environmental challenges and positively respond to the challenges of conserving local ecologies by appealing to their emotions. Rishab Shetty will be talking about Indian Cinema’s role in fostering discussions on environment, climate & conservation, at UNHRC Session in Geneva.” The tweet further mentions that CGAPP Director Anindya Sengupta met with Shetty on the sidelines of the Session, as the star of Kantara brings Indian stories to the world stage.
