MERCHANT NAVY as a Career in Engineering

BTECH Marine Engineering and Graduate Marine Engineering Course requires training on actual ship conditions which is full filled by a Ship in Campus an engineering marvel. This unique branch of engineering requires an awareness amongst the youth.

It is observed that marine engineering seems to be getting better placements and remuneration than the other branches of engineering. In India, there are about a total of 6,214 engineering and Technology Institutions in which about 2.9 million students take admission every year and on an average 1.5 million students graduate. In B.Tech Marine Engineering the total available seats are about 3,500 only. It is further observed that due to lack of awareness the number of applications received for this course is quite low. Hence, it has led to another option being created for students which is GME(Graduate Marine Engineering) which is a one-year course for students having completed 4 years of BTECH Mechanical.

The main advantage of this career is that one enjoys travelling all over the globe and interacting with people of different cultures, ethnicity and race. Salaries received are mostly in foreign currency primarily US dollars which are exempt from taxes too.
