Evolution in Hair Transplant technique-Dermaplast Aesthetic clinic

Simultaneous Graft Placement/ SGP

Have you ever come across individuals who have complained about specific transplant procedures being ‘ineffective’ or ‘not up to the mark’?

What are some of the causes of failure in FUE Hair Transplant procedure?

– Surgeon’s Inexperience with the procedure

– Inadequate post-operative care

-Not being an ideal candidate for hair transplant

-Lack of Integrity in Clinics for hair transplant.

Hair cells are, by nature, highly active and divide rapidly since their metabolic activities are high. So are their Oxygen and nutrient requirements.

During the harvesting and grafting period, these cells are subjected to ischemia or lack of oxygen supply. The duration of ischemia affects the percentage of viability or survival of the extracted grafts.

Grafts that are to be planted in the recipient area can stay out of the body for only as long as 6 hours before they start to die out. Their survival rate ranges from 4-to 6 hours.

*This is one of the primary reasons for hair transplant failure*

Hence, the team’s constant efforts are being carried out to reduce this “out of body ischemia time”.

We at Dermaplast, have been successful in reducing this time significantly to less than only 30 minutes.

Your results depend upon how fast the grafts are moved from the donor area to the recipient area. A combination of efficient teamwork and the best technique makes this possible. This is crucial for a great outcome.

To reduce this “out of body ischemia time”, the credit goes to the company DHI Global. They were the first to implement direct hair transplants. This continues to be utilized in several different forms.

We have been selectively using the DHI technique. The majority of our cases have been done by modifying this technique.

At Dermaplast, we have derived all the benefits of the inherent philosophy of the DHI technique and applied it towards better harvest and placement of grafts.

In our SGP technique, the complete extraction and implantation are not done simultaneously. Instead, it is done in slots.

The grafts are not simultaneously extracted from the body but left where they are after coring them before planting them onto the recipient site.

The graft is still attached to the scalp at its base, from which it continues to derive the blood supply. This technique is also called as In-Vivo Preservation technique.

An additional technique is the grafts are kept in a surgical pad soaked in PRP.

We have modified the placement method of the DHI technique by making pre-made slits. And the implantation is done with the help of the double forceps technique. Hence, our survival rate and density of plantation are far superior to the original FUE technique.

Thus, it is always best to rely on scientifically proven techniques that provide noteworthy results!
