Hair cells are, by nature, highly active and divide rapidly since their metabolic activities are high. So are their Oxygen and nutrient requirements.
During the harvesting and grafting period, these cells are subjected to ischemia or lack of oxygen supply. The duration of ischemia affects the percentage of viability or survival of the extracted grafts.
Grafts that are to be planted in the recipient area can stay out of the body for only as long as 6 hours before they start to die out. Their survival rate ranges from 4-to 6 hours.

In our SGP technique, the complete extraction and implantation are not done simultaneously. Instead, it is done in slots.
The grafts are not simultaneously extracted from the body but left where they are after coring them before planting them onto the recipient site.
The graft is still attached to the scalp at its base, from which it continues to derive the blood supply. This technique is also called as In-Vivo Preservation technique.
An additional technique is the grafts are kept in a surgical pad soaked in PRP.
We have modified the placement method of the DHI technique by making pre-made slits. And the implantation is done with the help of the double forceps technique. Hence, our survival rate and density of plantation are far superior to the original FUE technique.
