Originally, Alaknanda Kathak is a Kathak Dancer & an Art Motivator. She was awarded the internationally coveted ‘Honors Gratis’ by the President of Krakow, Poland on 22nd July 2019 in Krakow, Poland. Alaknanda is the State Icon for the Election Commission New Delhi and Brand Ambassador for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for EDMC. Received the STATE AWARD for contribution as State Icon for Election Commission New Delhi India.
An alumnus of Kathak Kendra trained for 14years with scholarship under Smt.Reba Vidyarthi ji, Smt. Bharti Gupta ji and Guru Munna Shukla ji. Performed in many productions of Pt. Birju Maharaj ji like Krishna in Krishnayana and Meera among many others.
In a career spanning 35 wonderful years of national scholarships, honorary titles, and ICCR empanelment, she has been running the largest performing arts institute and examination centre in the NCR for the last 30 years, while representing India at international festivals and curating independent dance festivals in India. Alaknanda institute for Performing Arts Noida is affiliated to Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal Miraj and Examination center for 1000’s of grooming artists for last 27years
She has been bestowed with prestigious titles like Nrityashri in her home country, it has been leaving India’s cultural footprint all around the world in countries like celebration of 50th India’s Independence in 1997 to Maldives by Indian Council for Cultural Relations, South Korea in 2001 World Cultural Festival at Jeju Island, Czechoslovakia and Poland in 2003 through Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Singapore for 5 years, Poland for 13years, Hungary for 3years under Amrita Shergill Cultural Centre, Embassy of India (Budapest) France, the United Kingdom at Nehru Centre for 3 year and many more.
During the Pandemic (Covid 19,) Alaknanda and AIPA has not slept and have been active throughout and been a leader that they are- They have extended online training globally for Kathak dance in USA (Washington DC, Seattle and California), United Kingdom (London), Canada and Singapore. Not only that, but her festivals have also gone online with UDAAN Season 1,2 and 3, rising above the Covid 19, and saluting the spirit of Optimism and Positivity. Sanskriti Pratibha Utsav is one such platform wherein for the first time ever 100+ participants have competed in classical dance competition online over Zoom which was live streamed on FB AIPA Page.

4) Sanskriti Pratibha Utsav (SPU) – A platform for the young budding dancers from all forms to come at one stage and compete for the best. Registrations open for classical dancers, folk dancers, semi classical dancers, and singers till 15th August’21 for competition taking place on 2nd and 3rd Oct’21.
